La Jolla Homes

La Jolla , which means "The Jewel", is a beautiful seaside community that has been a popular beach resort since the late 1800s.   La Jolla really and truly is “The Jewel” of California.  Sun-kissed beaches, beautiful San Diego weather, tide pools, sandy coves tucked between rocky cliffs, and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean make La Jolla one of the most highly desirable places to live in all of the U.S.

Perched on bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, La Jolla has captivated many over the years and continues to do so today.  No matter where you live in La Jolla you’re either a very short walking distance or within a five minute drive to the beach.  Imagine being on vacation 365 days a year - that’s the true essence of the La Jolla lifestyle!

Sprinkled across the coastline are clusters of homes that represent mini-communities of La Jolla.  Real estate in the area consists of beach cottages, a variety of condos and apartments, magnificent waterfront properties, as well as prestigious, estate homes.  The cliff top homes are the most picturesque with panoramic views of the ocean and the beaches below.  Each and every day residents experience Southern California fun with the elegance of a Southern European resort. As you descend the hills into the town, one is reminded of Greece or Italy: the white sand beach, the ocean, white stucco buildings with red tile roofs and an old mission with a bell tower all blend with the incredible diversity of flowers, trees and plants.

La Jolla is always bustling with activity.  The community of La Jolla Village is the business district where you’ll find office buildings, hotels, restaurants, a mall, shopping centers, and condos including many of the newer condo developments.  Students attending UCSD live in this area since the university is close by.

Residents who live near Prospect Street, considered the “Rodeo Drive” of San Diego,  have easy access to the Village with its high-end boutique shopping, casual dining, and art galleries.  Just a block away from Prospect is a park overlooking the ocean that is perfect for picnicking, flying kites, or simply enjoying the scenery.  A main attraction is La Jolla Cove, a beach nestled into cliffs that is favored by surfers, divers and snorkelers.  Outdoor recreation, tennis clubs, golf courses, world-class resorts, and gorgeous weather - what more could you ask for?

La Jolla is bordered by Pacific Beach to the South, Del Mar to the North and only a 20 minute drive from downtown San Diego.
