Soledad South
Take Nautilus Street from the ocean up to La Jolla Scenic Drive and you’ll arrive in the Soledad South neighborhood of La Jolla. This neighborhood is located at the southeastern most corner of La Jolla and has spectacular vistas of either the city, hillside, back country, the bay and ocean.
Mount Soledad is a prominent landmark that received a great deal of attention because of the cross at the top of the mountain. There has been an ongoing controversy over the cross because it stands on public land which some people believe violates the separation of church and state.
Soledad South is a traditional and quiet neighborhood with homes that were built in the 1950’s - 1970’s. Duplexes and condominiums can also be found in the area. Gated communities include Windemere, Ridgegate, and Mount La Jolla.
