La Jolla Village
Considered “The Heart” of La Jolla, The Village captures the down-to-earth, laid back atmosphere that is the true essence of San Diego living. As the name suggests, The Village is just that - a village - yet it is full of energy and attracts tourists wanting to get a glimpse of the beautiful scenery or shop in one of the high-end boutiques lining Prospect Street, the main street of The Village.
The Village, or downtown area, should not be confused with “La Jolla Village” which is the more metropolitan area of La Jolla. Just steps from the ocean, The Village is home to award-winning restaurants, the finest shops, and galleries. It’s very easy to experience every bit of San Diego culture because of the vast array of sights and things to do in The Village. From fine dining at Trattoria Acqua, hanging out at The Living Room coffee shop or Warwicks bookstore to taking in the beautiful art at the Museum of Contemporary Art, there’s something for every person to experience.
Surrounding The Village are beautiful multimillion dollar homes - some of them modern and contemporary Mediterranean - while others are cozy and classic. Homes on the hillside have absolutely magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and the north coast. As you turn onto Prospect coming from Torrey Pines Rd., you’ll pass a few gorgeous homes before you come across the shops. There are also a few small condo buildings nearby as well. Wherever you live in this neighborhood, however, you’re close to a supermarket, all the shopping, and scenic views your heart will desire.
